1 Man Dead After Being Shot In An Atlanta Student Housing Apartment

Atlanta police said a 24-year-old man died after being shot Sunday morning at a student housing apartment complex off of West Marietta Street.

Police responded to the scene at Westmar Student Lofts, located at 800 West Marietta Street, around 5 a.m. and found the victim with a gunshot wound.

Homicide Investigator Ralph Woolfolk said multiple people were living in the apartment where there was also a “substantial” amount of narcotics inside.

“This appears to be a target, isolated incident,” Woolfolk added.

Police haven’t named the victim but have a person of interest in addition to cooperative witnesses and ballistic evidence, Fox5 News reported.

“We do know there was a substantial amount of narcotics inside the apartment, which the victim was visiting,” Woolfolk said. “We do have a person of interest who was leaving that apartment that we’re assessing at this time.”
