Ever since the inception of Instagram, we’ve been able to get closer to some of our favorite celebrities like never before. Through witty captions and hilarious videos, we’ve found ways to stay engaged to our smartphones for hours at a time. Rappers have been using social media to entertain their fans also; but they’re not using it to spit rhymes, they’re using it to tap into their more comedic side.
Plies – Plies has officially found his calling in Instacomedy. From coining terms like “Bih” and “Sweet P*ssy Satday,” everyone looks forward to the next time Plies uploads a new 15-second video. Who knew the guy that gave is “Shawty” was so hilarious?
50 Cent – Instagram is 50 Cent’s playground. 50 used to take his shots on wax, but with the help of social media, he can throw his shade much quicker and more consistently. If 50 Cent has a problem with you, he’ll gladly take it to Instagram; and 9 times out of 10 it’ll be hilarious.
DJ Khaled – In case you’ve been sleeping under a rock, DJ Khaled has the funniest snapchat EVER. It’s an amazing mix of inspiration and comedy and at times we don’t know whether he’s serious, or it was a well calculated marketing plan. Either way, Khaled has our attention!
Game – By now you’ve probably learned that it isn’t smart to come for The Game on social media. When he’s not posting thirst traps for the ladies, the self-proclaimed King of Comment Creepin’ will drag you by your baby hairs with one swift, comedic, social media caption if you come at him wrong.
Kevin Gates – Gates is a rapper turned motivational speaker that used Instagram to go viral. Like Plies, many awaited the release of Gates’ Instagram videos just to see what the Louisiana spitter would say next. Let us never forget how he singlehandedly made eating booty popular (okay, maybe not.)
Rihanna – Rihanna’s Instagram and Snapchat are simply life giving and every now and then you will catch Rihanna throwing some comedic shade, twerking, or simply entertaining fans in the best way. There’s a reason she calls herself the Bad Gal.
Cam’Ron – If you pay attention to Killa’s Instagram, you’ll find him giving a sneak peak to his comedic side. Though it’s not an every day thing, I’m predicting that in 2016, Killa Cam will become a full blown Instacomedian. I’m not sure if the world is ready!
Snoop Dogg – Social media is where Snoop introduced us to the character, “Todd.” Since then Snoop has used social media to poke fun at everything from Love and Hip Hop to Iggy Azalea. Hell, he’s even took a few stabs at himself. Let us not forget that Snoop has become the infamous meme of every stereotypical black woman in a silk scarf.
Tyler The Creator – Tyler The Creator has always been funny and has always used social media to display that. He’s probably one of the few rappers that was probably most known as a social media comedian before anyone heard his very first song. Regardless of when you got hip to Tyler, there’s no doubt that the kid is absolutely, undoubtedly and unapologetically hilarious.
Erykah Badu – When she’s ready to hang up her hat as a singer, Motha Badu can rest assured in her calling as a comedian. The hilarious mother of 3 uses social media to poke fun at herself and literally anyone else. Like Plies, she can fit her comedy comfortably within a 15-second clip. Don’t come for Erykah unless she sends for you though, she will literally give you a good old southern roasting that will have you questioning all your decisions in life.
