Following the New York Times’ detailed post on Harvey Weinstein last week, The New Yorker published an article Tuesday, with new allegations against the movie mogul, written by #RonanFarrow after a 10-month investigation. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Farrow claims 13 women told him that Weinstein sexually harassed or assaulted them. Three of the women claimed rape and four said they experienced unwanted physical contact that could be classified as an assault. He also wrote that 16 former and current employees at Weinstein companies witnessed sexual advances and unwanted touching. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In one instance, Italian actress Asia Argento, alleges that the film producer forcibly performed oral sex on her and pressured her to have a sexual relationship with him while she starred in Miramax films. Argento was one of the three women who claimed she was raped by Weinstein.
The new report also includes audio from a NYPD sting operation involving Italian model Ambra Battilana, and Weinstein, where she can be heard refusing his advances to watch him shower. Harvey can be heard admitting to groping her and promising not to do it again if she came inside. Battilana later filed a lawsuit against Harvey for the incident. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Other notable actresses who have made claims against Harvey include Gwyneth Paltrow, Angelina Jolie, Ashley Judd, and Rose McGowan. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Weinstein has already been fired from his own movie studio, which also plans to change its name following the allegations.
