Cops in Houston, Texas, are looking for the individual who shot and killed three family members, including a pregnant mother and a 6-year-old child, Wednesday night around 10 p.m.
According to KHOU11, three family members were found shot to death in a home where a brave 10-year-old girl survived by playing dead until the masked intruder left.
35-year-old Gregory Carhee, 29-year-old Donyavia Lagway, and their daughter, 6-year-old Harmony Carhee, were shot dead. The 10-year-old also protected her one-year-old brother by holding him and calling her grandmother for help after the perpetrator fled.
A cousin of the woman who was killed said the shooter knocked on the door and forced their way into the family’s apartment when the dad answered. The suspect then shot and killed the father and allegedly grabbed the one-year-old baby by the hair and threw him before opening fire on the other terrified family members.
This was a very, very tragic scene,” Assistant Chief Patricia Cantu of the Houston Police Department said. “We’re sending out prayers to the family. This was not only a difficult scene for us but for the family as well.”
Authorities believe that because there were no signs of forced entry at the family’s home, the victims may have known their killer.
