A Northern California teen has been arrested for shooting another teen boy who attends his school.
A 13-year-old is in stable condition recovering from a gunshot wound after he was shot at his school Madison Park Academy on Monday. The shooter was a 12-year-old boy. There are no details on whether or not the adolescent attended the same school as the victim. The school is located in the Sobrante Park neighborhood, NBC Bay Area reports. According to police, the shooter was taken into custody quickly and safely.
“It saddens me to think a kid would bring a gun to school,” said Oakland Police Chief LeRonne Armstrong. “No parent wants to send their kids to school in the day and then be called saying, ‘You’re kid’s been shot.’ It’s the worst call you can get.”
Police are still investigating.
