12-Year-Old Atlanta Girl “Fighting For Her Life” After Testing Positive For Coronavirus, No Pre-Existing Conditions

A 12-year-old girl from Atlanta is currently “fighting for her life” after testing positive for the Coronavirus, according to the girl’s cousin.

Emma was diagnosed with pneumonia on March 15 and tested positive for Coronavirus on Friday. According to CNN, Emma is on a ventilator and is stable condition.

The girl’s cousin, Justin Anthony, told CNN that Emma had no pre-existing conditions and has not traveled recently. It’s unknown how she contracted the virus.

Emma is currently at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta-Scottish Rite Hospital. Jessica Pope, a spokeswoman for the hospital, stated that the young girl is in isolation.

“The patient remains in isolation, and we have consistently used appropriate precautions. Additional details will not be released due to patient privacy laws.”

The hospital has confirmed with CNN that Emma has tested positive for Covid-19, but would not go into further details.
