15-Year-Old Becomes One Of The Youngest To Attend Clark Atlanta University

Imagine going to college at the age of 15! Well, that’s the case for Emory Pruitt.

Pruitt, who has since turned 16, was accepted into Clark Atlanta University’s 2020 fall semester as one of the youngest ever admitted to the historically Black college, WSB-TV news reports.

The Tennessee native graduated with a 3.7 GPA, and according to CAU, her path to college wasn’t that easy.

“At her hometown high school, she was mocked for being a young Black woman who dared to dream big,” a CAU spokesperson wrote. “But the racism and adversity, along with strong family support, only strengthened Pruitt’s resolve.”

Pruitt’s brother Elijah was also admitted into the HBCU this year. The brother and sister duo were raised by their single mother, Karen Pruitt.

“Words would not be able to describe how thrilled and excited she was to have come across a dream come true,” Karen Pruitt said of her daughter.
