A desperate search is on after 16-year-old Karol Sanchez was kidnapped in the Bronx as her mother desperately tried to fight off.
The grainy black-and-white video shows the disturbing moment when an unsuspecting mother and daughter were walking down Eagle Avenue, near East 156th Street in the Melrose section of the Bronx Monday night. A beige, four-door sedan can be seen coming to a stop in front of the women, as four masked men exiting the vehicle and forcibly dragging 16-year-old Karol Sanchez into the vehicle.
The 36-year-old mother, who has not yet been identified, was knocked to the ground by the kidnappers as she held onto her daughter’s jacket. Authorities found the mother still at the scene, where she refused medical attention.
The van immediately fled east on East 156th Street, the police said.
While authorities have not yet released a motive for the kidnapping, they do believe that Sanchez is in imminent danger. Police described the suspects as four adult males in their 20s, wearing dark clothing. An Amber Alert was issued Tuesday morning, and officials are asking anyone with information to contact NYPD CrimeSTOPPERs at 800-577-TIPS
