Louisiana State Police are investigating a car accident that left a 17-year-old driver dead on Friday evening.

According to LSP, Charidy Dunbar was identified as the victim.

Dunbar was driving a Nissan Sentra west on LA 943 when she failed to stop at a stop sign, crashing into a Porsche Macan that had entered the intersection. The Nissan left the roadway and flipped.

The Porsche crashed into a Toyota Highlander preparing to make a lefthand turn onto LA 943.

Dunbar was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene. A juvenile passenger in the car, also unrestrained, was also injured in the crash. The passenger was taken to a hospital with moderate injuries.

The drivers of the Porsche and Toyota, along with a passenger in the Toyota, were all wearing seatbelts and were uninjured in the crash.

LSP said the investigation into the accident remains ongoing.
