1999 Shooting Victim Calls for Reopening of Case Against Diddy: ‘Justice Will Be Mine’

Natania Reuben, who sustained a gunshot wound to the face in the 1999 shooting which involved Diddy, is now advocating for the case to be reopened. Her call for justice resurfaced following recent raids at Diddy’s residences. Speaking on “Elizabeth Vargas Reports,” Reuben shared her renewed hope for justice, stating, “I finally felt like justice will be done, justice will be mine. And it belongs to all his victims.”

Back in December 1999, a chaotic scene unfolded at Club New York in Manhattan, leading to the arrest of Diddy, Jennifer Lopez, and rapper “Shyne” Barrow. While Diddy was acquitted of weapons charges, Shyne faced a decade behind bars. Reuben, directly affected by the incident, pursued justice by filing a $130 million lawsuit in 2008, which was eventually settled in 2011.

Despite the passage of time, Reuben has never wavered in her account, consistently identifying Diddy as the shooter. “I literally watched them pull out the guns,” she recounted, emphasizing her direct eyewitness account and the strength of her testimony to all involved. Yet, she expressed surprise over the skepticism her testimony received, saying, “I didn’t have any reason to believe that someone wouldn’t believe me. But as things unfolded, it became clear that disbelief was the reality,” Reuben added.

Her claims gained additional attention last month when she took to social media following a lawsuit by producer Lil Rod. The lawsuit alleges Diddy boasted about dodging responsibility for the shooting, allowing Shyne to take the fall. Reuben reflected, “Had people taken what I said more seriously and listened more intently, the suffering of 24 years’ worth of people could have been avoided.”

As the saga unfolds, Reuben remains a steadfast figure in the quest for truth and accountability, challenging the narrative and seeking justice for all affected by that fateful night at Club New York.
