According to police, two teenage girls are accused of a failed carjacking in Washington, D.C. that resulted in the death of a 66-year-old man.
Mohammed Anwar, of Springfield, Va., was killed in a car accident near Nationals Park on N Street in Southeast D.C.
Around 4:30 p.m., police said the two teen girls attacked Anwar with a taser about a mile away from the crash scene, where they then dragged and killed the man on the 1200 block of Van Street, SE.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services, where he was pronounced dead.
Anwar was a Pakistani refugee, according to a GoFundMe page set up to help his family pay for funeral expenses. According to the website, the two attackers attempted to carjack him while working on an UberEats delivery.
Investigators said both juvenile suspects were arrested and charged with felony murder and armed carjacking.
Because of their age, the girls’ identities have not been disclosed. DC police said that the 13-year-old suspect is from SE, DC and the other suspect, 15-years-old, is from Fort Washington, MD.
