The 2019 Grammys are coming and the nominations are in. Hip hop wins again with Kendrick Lamar leading total nominations with 8 and Drake coming next at 7. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Producer Boi-1da and Brandi Carlile each earned 6 nominations, which makes Carlile the most nominated woman at the 2019 Grammys. Cardi B, Childish Gambino, H.E.R., Lady Gaga, Maren Morris, producer Sounwave and mastering engineer Mike Bozzi follow with 5 nominations.
Much to many folks’ surprise, Beyonce and JayZ ‘s
“Everything is Love” album was shut out of the main categories and is only nominated for Best Urban Contemporary Album.
Kanye West, who has never won a #Grammy in one of the major categories, earned just one Grammy nomination in the best non-classical producer category, for his work on his G.O.O.D Music label’s releases from #PushaT, #Nas and #TeyanaTaylor, as well as his own album “Ye” and his “Kids See Ghosts” record with #KidCudi.
