Zendaya and Issa Rae are among a list of actors and show creators to be nominated for Emmys this year.
The 2020 Emmy nomination list was announced Tuesday and saw Zendaya nominated for her first Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for HBO’s Euphoria.
Insecure was nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series, and the show’s creator and star, Issa Rae, was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. Yvonne Orji was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.
Anthony Anderson and on-screen wife Tracee Ellis Ross were both nominated for their roles in ABC’s Black-ish, and Don Cheadle was nominated for Showtime’s Black Monday. Sterling K. Brown was nominated for NBC’s This Is Us, and Billy Porter was nominated for FX’s Pose.
Octavia Spencer was nominated for her role in Self Made. She will go against Kerry Washington for Little Fires Everywhere in the Best Actress in a Limited Series or a Television Movie category.
Netflix scored 160 nominations, breaking the record for most nominations in a year, for their shows Ozark, The Crown, Unbelievable, Unorthodox, Dead to Me and several others.
The most-nominated series was HBO’s Watchmen, with 26 nominations including a Best Actress nomination for Regina King. They were followed by Amazon’s The ‘Marvelous Mrs. Maisel‘ with 20. Disney +’s ‘The Mandalorian,’ NBC’s ‘Saturday Night Live,’ and Pop TV’s ‘Schitt’s Creek’ earned 15 nominations each.

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences’ 72nd annual Emmy Awards will be presented on September 20 virtually and will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.
