2021 Billboard Finalist Announced; The Weekend Leads The Group Of Artists With 16 Nods

On Thursday, the Billboard Music Award announced its finalists out of 113 nominated artists.

The nominations ranged from AC/DC to Young Thug, and the chosen artists from the list of nominations won’t be revealed until May 23.

The Billboards have given us a good list of contenders.

Among the finalist is The Weekend, Taylor Swift, the late Pop Smoke, Juice WRLD, Miley Cyrus, Machine Gun Kelly, Bad Bunny, Gabby Barrett, BTS, Elevation Worship, Drake, Justin Bieber, Kane Brown, Carrie Underwood, Bruce Springsteen, AC/DC, and Kanye West.

The Weekend has 16 nods; the Billboard reported and leads the group of artists this year. His hit song, “Blinding Lights,” is this year’s only song to be a finalist for the top song in all three categories; streaming, sales, and radio airplay.

Late hip hop stars Pop Smoke and Juice WRLD are also a finalist for 10 and 7 awards and are both competing in seven categories, which includes top artist.

Drake and Justin Bieber are also among the list of finalists. Drake leads with 27 awards, Taylor Swift follows with 23, and Bieber with 20. If they win, they will all add to their number of awards.

According to the outlet, Drake has seven nods, Swift has four, and Bieber has five.

Kanye West is up for top gospel artist for the second year in a row. His song, which features Travis Scott, “Wash Us in Blood,” is nominated for the top gospel song.
