21 Savage was honored with his own day in Georgia during his annual Christmas giveaway.
On Wednesday, the rapper’s Leading By Example Foundation hosted its fourth-annual “Grant-A-Wish” Christmas event. The foundation gifted 100 families with toys and food to celebrate the holiday.
Outside of tending to his humanitarian efforts, Savage was also awarded his own day (December 21) by State Representative Billy Mitchell.
Savage received a special award for the philanthropic work he’s been doing in the community. Just to name a few, Savage launched the 21 Savage Bank Account Campaign that teaches students about financial literacy.

“Growing up in Atlanta, the hustling energy just rub off on you,” Savage said last year in a promo video advertising the campaign. “Financial literacy is important because that’s one of the main things that you need to operate and be successful as an adult. I just wanted to come up with something that could kids have some understanding of what to do with that money.”
In addition, the Leading By Example and Project Backboard teamed up last year to revamp a basketball court at Parkway-Wabash Park. Savage said he wanted to create a safe space where kids could get their minds off of life difficulties.
“Basketball created space for me in my childhood to compete, learn camaraderie, and simply escape the challenges of everyday life,” he said. “I am hoping this court will allow kids in Zone 6 to do the same. When I started my foundation, Leading by Example, I was determined to remove barriers for the next generation of Atlanta because my success is shared with my community who consistently support and inspire me.”
