There’s no secret that NBA Youngboy has one of the most loyal fan bases. It showed when his latest album, Sincerely Kentrell battled with Drake for the top spot on the Billboard Top 200. Even though it seems as though everyone loves Youngboy, rapper 21 Savage explains why Youngboy doesn’t receive a lot of recognition from other artists.
In a recent interview with DJ Akademiks, 21 Savage shares his thoughts on why rappers don’t praise the YouTube sensation.
The rapper mentions how he wouldn’t work with Kanye West because of his loyalty to Drake. Savage then goes on to explain that’s the same reason why artists won’t work with Youngboy because of their loyalty to Lil Durk.
Now it’s no secret that NBA Youngboy is close friends with Lil Durk’s rival Quando Rondo, who is responsible for the killing of his friend, King Von.
“You don’t have to pick a side. But you do have to be a certain type of artist to be in the middle.”
Some just speculate that the beef between the two rappers is just rumors seeing as the two have previously collaborated. There has not been any clear reasoning for the rivalry, but fans have made their own decision.
Neither artist has confirmed or denied the rumors, but according to 21 Savage, the rap industry has noticed the disconnect and is siding with Lil Durk.
