A developer is buying the $22 million dollar mansion once owned by predator Jeffrey Epstein, but the developer will demolish it to build something more expensive, CNN reports.
Epstein was convicted on federal sex trafficking charges but died by suicide while in prison. The mogul was accused of sex trafficking underage females from his Manhattan and residences.
The 14,000 square foot waterfront home set to be destroyed has 6 bedrooms, a pool house, and a staff house. It was out on the market this past July, and according to Corcoran agent Kerry Warwick it’s now in contract to be bought by Florida developer Todd Michael Glaser, who is known for demolition.
“We would have knocked it down either way,” Glaser said, saying it wasn’t being tore down because it was an Epstein home. His plans are to build an Art Moderne home which should be finalized by 2022. He hopes to sell it for $40 million.
