Two adults and one child have died after a minivan was hit by a train at a railroad crossing in East Chicago, Indiana. Three other children were injured.
According to Local News 8, video footage of the area confirmed signals were working, and the gates were down at the time, but the Honda Odyssey minivan, went around the gate and into the train’s path.
The 36-year-old male driver, the 38-year-old, and the 10-year-old female passenger died at the scene.
Three boys between the ages of 7-10 have been listed in critical condition at a nearby hospital.
The identities of the victims have not been revealed.
