$300,000 Painting Found In The Trash at Airport

A Surrealist painting worth $300,000 was discovered at Düsseldorf Aiport in Germany. The picture by French artist Yves Tanguy was found in a recycling bin.

The painting went missing on November 27, when a man left it on the counter at the airport. According to CNN, the man, a businessman, contacted German authorities at the airport to try and find it. They were unsuccessful in their search. The man’s nephew traveled to Düsseldorf to file a police report.

According to CNN, the local police contacted the cleaning company that cleans the airport. After rummaging through recycling bins, they found the painting at the bottom of a bin.

It’s not clear how the painting got to the recycling bin, but it has been returned to the owner.
