Naturi Naughton revealed that during her throwback appearance on “MTV Cribs,” she had no car or no actual crib.
The former 3LW star sat down with The Breakfast Club along with Eve, Nadine Velazquez, and Brandy to speak about their new music series, “Queens.” During the interview, the singer turned actress revealed that things were not as luxurious as they appeared during her time with the platinum-selling girl group. In fact, Naughton confessed that the home they showcased on MTV Cribs was a rental property.
“MTV did the Cribs, and back when 3LW was hot, we had to pretend. But I didn’t have a car. I didn’t have a house. I didn’t have any of those things. … But we did MTV Cribs,” she told hosts DJ Envy, Charlamagne Tha God, and Angela Yee.
Naughton officially left the group in 2002 after disputes with fellow members Adrienne Bailon Houghton and Kiely Williams. In 2009, she made her big-screen acting debut as Lil Kim in “Notorious,” a biopic about the late Christopher “Biggie Smalls” Wallace. In 2014, she was cast as Tasha in the hit Starz series, “Power.” Now, she is taking over the role of Jill in the highly anticipated girl group drama-comedy “Queens,” which premiered Tuesday night.
