Officers from the Pasco Police Department solved the mystery surrounding the theft of a 400-pound slide stolen from a playground last year.
According to CNN, while investigating a case of stolen car parts in Washington, police discovered the missing slide mounted to a child’s bunk bed in Burbank.
Authorities went to the home after obtaining a search warrant to look for stolen catalytic converters.
During the search, Detective Julie Lee recognized the slide like the one taken from a Pasco city park back in December.
The park has now recovered the slide, which had been cut at the top and painted blue.
It’s unknown how the slide got from the park to the mobile home where it was discovered. The child’s father has been charged with possessing stolen property, authorities stated.
Police also found catalytic converters during their search, but no one at home was charged in connection with them.
