CMG rapper 42 Dugg has voiced his aggravation with fellow Detroit rappers, claiming they haven’t properly acknowledged his contributions to the city’s music scene.

During a recent Instagram Live session, Dugg stated, *”This s**t you see these n***as doing, I was the first to do a lot of this s**t in Detroit.”* While he didn’t name specific individuals, the “Maybach” artist described his willingness to collaborate with friends who were up-and-coming rappers, even when the songs had little chance of being released.

“Any one of my friends wanted to rap, guess who was doing a song with them? Even if I know this s**t will never come out because these n***as will never take it serious, I’m still going to do three, four songs with you. I’m still going to make sure to hook right. Even if I got to write this s**t, I’m still going to make sure your verse good. I’m talking about this is all for s**t that ain’t coming out,” he explained.

While the reason behind Dugg’s recent remarks is unclear, the 29-year-old has previously expressed frustration with the industry. In a July interview with Complex, he admitted to being “ready to quit.” At the time, Dugg hinted at an early retirement, expressing a desire to relocate abroad with his family. With his latest comments, it seems possible that the talented lyricist may be preparing to step away from hip-hop entirely.
