50 Cent Blasts Golden Globes Over “Power” Snub, Threatens to Leave the Show

On Monday, the Golden Globes released the nominees for their 2017 awards show. However, like every other award show, a few fan favorites were overlooked by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

After shattering records and exceeding all expectations, 50 Cent’s hit show “Power,” still didn’t make the cut for a Golden Globe nod. As a result, 50 threatened to ditch the Starz drama series, after expressing himself via Instagram about the snub.

“I’m on the move again, the Golden Globes can suck a d*ck,” 50 wrote on his Instagram page, underneath a picture of himself. “I accept my series POWER was not intended to be a signature show for the network but it is the highest rated show. I know my audience very well, I’m done promoting this outside of contractual obligations. SEASON 4 KANAN MUST DIE, I got other sh*t to do.”

50 continued, posting a second photo. This time, featuring what seems to be an edit of Floyd Mayweather photoshopped into Power Season 4 artwork. Along with the photo, the rapper and executive producer of the show wrote, “I’m off the POWER train, champ is gonna do the show. Go to him for more info, I gotta do something different.”

In turn, Deadline reached out to Starz for a comment. A spokesperson responded to the request and acknowledged the snub.

“We are grateful for the excellent work being done on Power by the producers, cast and crew. We certainly think this exceptional show has been overlooked by various wards committees, but the fans have made it the second-most-watched show on premium cable in 2016….and those are accolades that mean just as much if not more.”
