50 Cent hasn’t been holding back lately when it comes to addressing the drama in the industry.
Recently, he’s been taking shots at Diddy and Jay-Z, and now he’s questioning J. Cole’s decision to apologize to Kendrick Lamar during the Drake beef earlier this year.
On Big Boy Radio, the host asked 50 if he understood the dynamic between Cole, Kendrick, and Drake. While 50 acknowledged their relationship, he didn’t hold back on his thoughts about Cole’s move.
“Because he’s one of the top guys,” 50 said, “there’s a competitive nature about hip-hop. I wanted to see him compete. That’s how we gonna find out who really got it.”
While 50 understands the brotherhood between them, he doesn’t get why Cole didn’t lean into the rivalry. “If y’all are brothers like that, then why wouldn’t you compete? Why wouldn’t you understand we are just competing?”
It’s clear 50 Cent is all about the old-school mentality of proving your spot at the top. Whether Cole sees it the same way? That’s another story.
