Sources tell TMZ that 50 Cent was in New York for a charity event at the time of his son’s graduation from his high school in Atlanta. He tells 106 & Park he was out of the country, shooting a film. Either way you slice it, 50 says not only did he not know where his son’s graduation was, he wasn’t invited and that’s why he didn’t show.
“I don’t need an explanation. I don’t really. I think that my personal life, and portions of it, are actually supposed to be personal,” 50 tells 106 & Park, ” My son — I haven’t received an invitation. When he graduated, I was in Budapest on a movie with Melissa McCarthy, Jude Law, and Jason Statham.” As far as why 50 is being chastised for missing the graduation, he says “I think, at some point, the reason why it actually comes out is because his mom is going to TMZ. I wish she’d find someone so she could leave me alone.”
Keep in mind, TMZ posted the Facebook photo of 50’s son, Marquise, with the Facebook caption that we (with the help of Marquise’s sister) had already determined was from a fake account. So with that said, the story making it to TMZ had nothing to do with the child’s mother. In regards to 50 not knowing where the graduation was, sources say Marquise attends a private school that 50 pays for. It kind of seems off to me that he would cut a check to a school and not know where it was located.
When it comes to 50 wanting to keep his family life private, I find that hard to believe when he’s posting the countdown to child support shut down on his Instagram page.
