50 Cent is coming for Rick Ross yet again, this time for using the instrumental to his 2003 hit, “In Da Club.”
50 Cent took to a Connecticut court to file a lawsuit against Rick Ross over the use of “In Da Club” on his Renzel Remixes mixtape released in November. The tape, which was available online for free, featured Ross rapping over beats by artists like Yo Gotti, Adele, Drake and Tupac and was used to help promote Ross’ “Black Market” album.
“In Da Club” appears as track 8 on Renzel Remixes and features 50 Cent on the hook towards the end of the song. Despite the mixtape not being for sale, 50 Cent wants his coins. He has asked the courts to make Rick Ross pay $2 million for the use of the track.
