The on-going beef between Drake and Meek Mill has reignited the interest of competitive rap beefs. Since Meek accused Drake of having a ghost writer, hip-hop superstars have expressed their opinions on the situation. While, the beef is almost a year old, both rappers have continuously thrown shots at one another, which most likely means there won’t be reconciliation any time soon.
On the bright side 50 Cent, who’s no stranger to a good rap beef, has revealed that he doesn’t detect any “threat level” with the two rappers. The Queens rapper stopped by N.O.R.E and DJ EFN’s “Drink Champs” podcast to explain his reasoning, using Drake’s “Back to Back” Grammy nomination to prove his point. 50 also revealed he was actually a fan of Meek Mill before everything went down.
“I just don’t see none of them doing that…I can’t really see a threat level with [them]…When [Drake] gets the award for the record means they viewed it as if it was art for the first time. The competitive nature of our culture in Hip Hop, they viewed it as art. And honored it. Because they didn’t see the threat level in what he was saying. Whenever I’m competing they think it’s gonna spill out on the streets. Some sh*t is gonna happen. Because they seen sh*t happen.”
50 also touched on politics, providing his opinion of Donald Trump, Trump supporters and who he thinks should run for President.
“It’s okay to be politically incorrect, and that’s what he doing,” 50 said. “And I think the people don’t trust politicians…I think Kanye should run. I don’t care if he lose. I just want him to run…People don’t trust politicians, so they look at him and say ‘It’s something different.’ And even when he makes mistakes, he says he’s just being honest.”
As the podcast came to an end, 50 Cent spoke on the actions of French Montana during his beef with DJ Khaled and Fat Joe.
“What made me look at French early on a little sideways was when I had my issues with Joe and them back then with Khaled,” the rapper said. “They actually taped it. When you see Khaled’s mother sleeping on the thing and it says ‘a psychic told me.’ French and them actually taped it. You see what I’m saying? And they sent it to me. This is the crews they running around with now. So, I look at them like they suckas…I don’t care about that really. It’s just that’s what it is…It’s like you belong with those suckas, sucka. It don’t matter to me.”
