50 Cent Won’t Face Charges For Striking Power 106 Host Bryhana Monegain With A Microphone

50 Cent will not face any criminal charges stemming from the microphone-throwing incident.

If you recall, Power 106 radio host Bryhana Monegain was struck in the head while at a 50 Cent show in Los Angeles back in August. She was standing in the crowd when 50 tossed the microphone. The incident left Monegain with some serious lacerations to the face. She reported the incident to the Los Angeles police. However, the Los Angeles County District Attorney transferred the case to the L.A. City Attorney’s office. From there, no charges were filed.

TMZ reports that the case will be re-examined next August, and possible charges may be filed at that time. However, that is unlikely as long as 50 stays out of trouble. Monegain has not commented publicly on the decision. During a Thursday Instagram Q&A session, she reported that her mental health was a “solid 5 ½” and thanked her loved ones for keeping her afloat during these difficult few months. Last month, she wrote a lengthy statement on her IG as well, once again thanking those close to her and her fans for their support as she continued a social media break “to focus on my recovery both physically and mentally.”

50’s lawyer has said that while the “Power” creator indeed threw the microphone out of frustration with the technical issues, he had no intentions of harming Monegain. She has also filed a lawsuit against him, though the outcome remains unknown.
