50 Cent is still serious about Teairra Mari paying him the $50,000 that she owes him.
On April 20th, Mari finally appeared in court to discuss her financial records and answer 50’s attorney’s questions regarding why she has not paid him the money yet. The examination took hours, with Mari testifying from 9:30 a.m. to 12:51 p.m. Despite what 50 and his team have claimed, Mari says she responded to the G-Unit’s founder multiple times regarding the judgment.
The “Power” creator enlisted the help of a private investigator to locate Mari after asking a judge to hold her in contempt of court for refusing to turn over her financial records. After finding her in Los Angeles, she agreed to appear for the April hearing.
Mari and 50 Cent have been in a legal entanglement for quite some time. Until now, the singer has avoided paying him the money awarded to him. However, being called into court for a debtor examination is a sign that she may no longer be able to outrun the payment.
The “Love & Hip-Hop” star originally sued 50 Cent for sharing her explicit photos on his social media platforms. However, the images had already leaked, and 50 only re-posted them to his page after they had already gone viral. The lawsuit was eventually dismissed, and the court granted $30,000 to cover his legal bills. Mari refused to pay, previously claiming she didn’t have the money. This caused her debt to skyrocket to $50,000.
Following news of Mari’s latest court appearance, 50 took to Instagram to troll the 34-year-old about her lack of compliance and once again ask for his money,
“Young lady your going to learn to have respect for the legal system whether you like it or not. where is your friend lisa bloom now ! she ran away and left you smh,” he wrote in the post’s caption. Lisa Bloom was originally representing Mari in the revenge porn case. 50 ended the post by writing, “I want Money by Monday.”
