In the suit filed in 2020, Fashion Nova said they reached out to the now-disgraced rapper for a promotional partnership. 6ix9ine agreed to the deal and was paid a $225,000 cash advance in October 2018 for his service. However, the rapper was arrested two weeks after receiving the payment and was unable to fulfill his duties. So they filed the suit.
Although 6ix9ine agreed to the judgment against him, he said he only owed $39k of the total balance, personally. But, according to the publication, Tekashi might be left to pay for the entire judgment if the other defendants, including the booking and entertainment companies linked to the suit, failed to pay any of the remaining $311K.
