Tekashi 6ix9ine is once again back in the legal hot seat, but this time, he’s opting for a strategic confession.
Following a March 12th raid at his luxurious Florida estate, the rapper has admitted to possessing MDMA and cocaine, substances uncovered during a probation compliance check triggered by a tip from a confidential informant. The early morning search revealed three ecstasy pills and a bag with cocaine residue.
Though federal agents also seized a Glock 9mm, fentanyl, and marijuana, 6ix9ine’s legal team negotiated a deal: if he pleads guilty to the drug charges, prosecutors will drop the firearm and fentanyl violations. The move spares him a full evidentiary hearing and allows the government to cancel witness travel plans for the upcoming July 23rd court date.
During the raid, 6ix9ine was detained for six hours. He initially claimed the drugs weren’t his and accused a former associate of planting them. However, the rapper now appears ready to own part of the mess in hopes of a lighter outcome.
He remains under tight probation terms, no firearms, no drugs, and limited travel. His attorneys are expected to ask for a delay in sentencing, but this latest misstep puts his freedom on shaky ground.
For now, 6ix9ine dodges a bullet, but with eyes still on him, another slip could land him right back behind bars.
