6ix9ine has been released from jail after serving a brief stint for violating his probation and has been ordered to find a job.

According to a Tribune report, the controversial rapper was released from the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn on Thursday, December 12th, with a one-year probation extension, a homestay order, electronic monitoring, and various other stipulations. Among them is the requirement to maintain full-time “lawful” employment, which could pose a significant challenge to his career as a rapper.

The rapper was sentenced to 45 days behind bars on November 13th, exceeding the 30-day term the prosecution sought due to multiple probation violations, including testing positive for meth, traveling to Las Vegas without permission, and twice failing drug tests.

Judge Paul Engelmayer remarked, “Your breach of the court’s trust is profound. Five violations suggest you believe the rules don’t apply to you, perhaps because you’re a famous rapper.”

In response, 6ix9ine pleaded for leniency, stating, “I make a lot of mistakes, but I’m not a bad person.”

Engelmayer also warned him of harsher sentencing should he return to his court again. This probation period relates to 6ix9ine’s 2019 sentencing for racketeering, firearms offenses, and drug trafficking, which resulted in a two-year prison sentence plus five years of supervised release.

6ix9ine shared an image with two women following his release. All three stood in front of a plane and the caption read, “Sometimes send your man to jail he come back better.” He also included a video in the post of him rapping, indicating new music is on the way.
