7 Children Rushed To The Hospital After Overdosing On Sleeping Pills

Seven young children overdosed on sleeping pills at a Virginia home on Wednesday night after a 7-year-old handed out the potentially lethal medication.

Police responded to the residence in Hopewell, Virginia, at around 5:30 p.m. and found four children, ages 1, 2, 3, and 4, unresponsive, the other three children (all under the age of 8) who had also ingested the pills but were awake when cops arrived.

The children all took the medication when they were left in the home alone by an adult who went to a nearby store.

All seven children were taken to a hospital, and the two youngest victims were later transferred to another medical facility in serious condition.
