Columbus, Georgia, police confirmed nine juveniles were shot at a gas station Saturday night.
Officers were dispatched around 10:11 p.m. to a Shell Gas Station for reports of a shooting, where they discovered several gunshot victims and a large group of people, KKTV reported.
The nine victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were treated at nearby hospitals.
Columbus Police Chief Freddie Blackmon said four of those victims have been released.
Police said all the victims are under 18, with the youngest being a 5-year-old boy and the eldest a 17-year-old boy.
Members of the Columbus Police Department’s Robbery and Assault Unit will investigate the incident. But a preliminary report suggests an altercation occurred at a party and moved to the gas station.
Blackmon added that investigators are speaking to witnesses. However, some are not cooperating.
No arrests have been made at this time.
“We’re committed to ensure that we find the person or person that are responsible for this senseless crime,” Blackmon said.
“As I always say, it takes our entire community to combat gun violence in our city,” Blackmon said.
