A simple and fun family gathering turned tragic Saturday afternoon when a 9-year-old girl was fatally shot during a drive-by.
At about 1:10 p.m., when Sacramento police arrived at the scene near Mama Marks Park, they found the 9-year-old along with a woman and a 6-year-old girl had been shot.
The 9-year-old was the only victim pronounced dead at the scene. According to CNN, the woman is in critical condition, and the 6-year-old condition is stable.
Police later learned that another victim was involved, a man who drove himself to the hospital. His condition is stable.
Details revolving around the shooting are still unclear to police. But, they are investigating to see if it is gang-related. Police have yet to arrest a suspect in connection to the shooting.
Reported by CNN, the Sacramento Police Department offers up to a $1,000 reward for anyone with information.
