A California man threw a register through a window because he was refused a refund after a restaurant allegedly messed up his order.
On Tuesday, a video of a man hurling a register through a Wingstop restaurant window went viral. The incident occurred when the man asked for a refund after the restaurant messed up his order twice. The order was reportedly made online, and the manager at the Antelope Wingstop location told the man it is against the company’s policy to refund money for online orders.
“I don’t want the food. I don’t want to wait. I don’t have time to wait on the food again. OK, so now what do we do?” the man is heard saying in the video recorded on Saturday. “It’s either you get the food remade, and you go on about your day and stop yelling at my other manager, because that’s, no, it’s uncalled for,” an employee at the counter replies.
That’s when the man grabbed the register, ripped it off the counter, and slammed it on the ground twice before chucking it through the window. “I was telling him to calm down,” said Tharon Trujillo, who recorded the incident. “I was like, ‘You don’t want to go to jail, you don’t want to go to jail.’”
According to KCRG, the manager said the man claimed he was missing several wings and wanted a refund. “You’re going to pay a whole lot more than just $12 and also may go to jail,” Trujillo said. The manager said the register would cost about $6,000 to replace.
