A Capitol Riot Defendant Who Threatened To Hang Nancy Pelosi Said No Attorney Is Needed Since She Is, “Divinely Immune From The Court’s Laws”

Pauline Bauer, a pizzeria owner from Pennsylvania, was arrested and charged in connection with the January 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. She wanted all defense attorneys to be removed from her case since she claimed to be a “divine entity immune from the court’s laws,” according to Business Insider.

Bauer is under fire after threatening to kill Nancy Pelosi. According to Prosecutors, Bauer is captured on body camera footage inside the Capitol Rotunda during the U.S. Capital riot saying, “Bring Nancy Pelosi out here right now, we want to hang that f—ing b—-.”

Bauer claims in court filings that she is a “self-governed individual” and has special privileges. She is bizarrely insisting on representing herself in court. Her court-appointed attorney reportedly did not respond when asked to comment on Bauer.

During a Zoom court appearance on June 11, Bauer reportedly told the judge she was attending “by special divine appearance.”

“I do not stand under the law,” Bauer reportedly stated. “Under Genesis 1, God gave man dominion over law.”

Bauer was removed later on from that particular video court proceeding “due to her inability to show qualm and decency to the Court,” according to records obtained by Business Insider. She was ordered to appear again in person later in June.

On June 21st Bauer was jailed overnight after refusing to accept the conditions of her release. She was then released the next day on her own recognizance after agreeing to pretrial-release conditions.

A few days later, Bauer submitted a series of court filings filled with far-right conspiracies with a “sovereign citizens” defense. The believers of the pseudo-science movement say that “they — not judges, juries, law enforcement or elected officials — should decide which laws to obey and which to ignore,” according to Southern Poverty Law Center.

Business Insider reports that Bauer is scheduled to go back to court in person later in July. She is charged with “obstructing justice and Congress; knowingly entering a restricted building; knowingly engaging in disorderly conduct in a restricted building, and violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds.”
