Talk about computer love….A couple has made headlines recently for tying the knot despite never meeting each other.
Ayse who’s a U.K. native, met Darin who’s a U.S native, online during the coronavirus quarantine. Ayse joined a Facebook group with hopes of meeting new people during the lockdown.
However, Ayse met a woman named Kenda, who told Ayse she had a son her age. Since Ayse was already looking to make new friends, she agreed to speak with him.
Kenda passed the number along, and Ayse & Darin became inseparable since July 2020. The two spent every night on the phone despite the 5 hour time difference. Once the pair became an item, Ayse made plans to travel to see her new beau. Unfortunately, that became impossible with the U.S. travel regulations in place.
Nevertheless, this didn’t stop the duo, and they continued their weekly date nights on FaceTime which consisted of ordering takeout as a surprise for the other.
After a year of only speaking online, Darin popped the question. Of course, Ayse said yes & since the two knew it’d be a while before they met, the pair went ahead and got married via zoom.
Ayse seems to be smitten by her new husband and says she “never imagined this would happen to me in a million years. But we’re married, and it’s all completely legal and official – I still can’t believe it.”
