Billy Hemsley was later identified as the suspect. According to police, Hemsley got into an argument with several family members prior to the shooting. At some point, Hemsley got fed up and shot the three victims, and fled the scene.
“We can tell you, at least preliminarily, that there was an altercation that happened in the room between four individuals we believe all known to each other. And during that altercation, the one individual shot the three other individuals,” Captain Koren said.
Authorities eventually caught Hemsley near Nellis Boulevard and Twain Avenue and took him into custody. On Friday, Capt. Dori Koren shared that Hemsley was “identified, located and arrested” within six hours of the shooting.
Hemsley is currently facing one murder charge and two charges of attempted murder.
