A New Monolith Surfaces In Romania After The First One Vanishes In Utah

A second metallic structure was spotted late last week in Romania after the first monolith appeared then vanished in the middle of nowhere in Utah.

It was found “standing tall on a hill called Boatca Doamnei, just outside the city of Pirata Neamt,” TMZ reports.

Romanian officials are just as unsure as Utah officials are regarding how the structure got there or who dug it into the ground.

According to officials in Utah, the monolith was removed Friday evening, but no one knows who or when it was done. The structure was planted on land operated by the Federal Bureau of Land Management.

“We have received credible reports that the illegally installed structure, referred to as the “monolith” has been removed from Bureau of Land Management (BLM) public lands by an unknown party,” officials said. “The BLM did not remove the structure, which is considered private property.”

“We do not investigate crimes involving private property which are handled by the local sheriff’s office. The structure has received international and national attention, and we received reports that a person or group removed it on the evening of Nov. 27.”

The Bureau of Land Management has said that it will not investigate the monolith’s removal but, instead, leave it up to the local sheriff.
