A few weeks ago, during a peaceful march, Mark and Patricia McCloskey, personal injury attorneys, were caught on video waving guns at protestors. On Friday, police served the couple with a search warrant.
“We were threatened with our lives,” Mark McCloskey told the station, KDSK in defense. “Threatened with a house being burned down, my office building being burned down, even our dog’s life being threatened.”
Protesters were marching down the Central West neighborhood toward Mayor Lyda Krewson’s home to demand her resignation when both Mark and Patricia exited their lavish mansion aiming guns.
Mark seemed to be holding an AR-15-style rifle his wife, “Patricia aimed [her pistol] at the passersby with her finger on the trigger,” the New York Post wrote.
“The only thing that stopped the crowd from approaching the house was when I had that rifle,” Mark said.
According to CBS News, because of the warrant, police were able to seize the “semi-automatic .223 caliber rifle” Mark was holding in the now viral photographs.
Charges against the couple have yet to be announced.
