Aaliyah Wax Figure To Be Unveiled At Madame Tussauds Las Vegas

The late “Princess of Hip Hop/R&B” Aaliyah will be unveiled as a wax figure added to the collection at Madame Tussauds Las Vegas on August 21st, just days before the 18th anniversary of her tragic passing.

The wax sculpture has been highly-requested by fans of the singer for many years since her death in 2001 via online petitions. It is now coming to fruition.

The official Aaliyah Instagram page announced the news Monday, along with a contest that will give ten lucky fans VIP access to the statue’s big reveal event.

MTLV is hosting the contest, and to enter, contestants must share their best Aaliyah-inspired look with the hashtag #ShowUsYourAaliyah on both Instagram and the Aaliyah app.

No word on which iconic outfit the Aaliyah wax figure will wear, but the photo used in the announcement alludes to a look from her 1997 performance for “A Gift of Song.”
