A$ap Rocky Shares His Thoughts On R. Kelly: “He Needs To Be Dealt With”

Rapper ASAP Rocky says it’s time for R. Kelly to be “dealt” with.

During an interview with radio personality Angie Martinez on Power 105.1, the rapper discussed new music, his annual celebration in honor of the late ASAP Yams and his thoughts on French Montana’s R. Kelly comments.

When TMZ asked Montana about his views on Kelly’s recent backlash following the release of the docu-series “Surviving R. Kelly,” the rapper sympathized with the self-proclaimed pied piper. “They don’t let nobody have their legendary moments,” he told the website. “I feel like they did Michael Jackson like that. They did R. Kelly like that. All the greats went down like that.” Montana then recanted his statements in a tweet writing, “Let me be clear,” he tweeted Sunday. “My heart is with the victims. I never thought the people I looked up to as a kid, who sang and danced and gave me hope to become a superstar would become drug addicts, child molesters [sic] and rapists. I am hoping we as a culture create better leaders. We need them.”

When asked about his feelings towards Montana’s statements, Rocky said Montana merely misspoke. “Can I say something about that? I think [French] had a Kanye moment where he was trying to articulate something, and his delivery just wasn’t right. I think what he was trying to say was people like Bill Cosby, people like R. Kelly, [they] build up this legacy for a long time, and it just gets taken away.”

Rocky then expressed how shocked he was to find out Aaliyah’s age was forged when she and Kelly were married. “Don’t get me wrong- do I know if R. Kelly is a rapist and all that other stuff? It seems like he is,” he exclaimed. “I mean, like he married Aaliyah when she was, like, 15… He married Aaliyah at 14, 15… how old was he when that alleged video came out? Too g*d damn old. I look at it like this. If that man has a sickness, he needs to be dealt with. He done beat the court dates… it goes to show the whole system is corrupted… R. Kelly was the King of R&B… and this motherf**ker now is known for being a sex pedophile.”
