The state of California will determine who will inherit Aaron Carter’s estate after learning he died without a will.
Family sources told TMZ the former child star was advised by his attorney to make a will because he had a child who depended on him.
Aaron and his fiancée Melanie shared 11-month-old son Prince who was removed from the home by the L.A. County Dept. of Children and Family Services. He’s been living with Melanie’s mom since September.
Aaron died a week ago and never got around to making his will.
Fortunately, Prince will not be left in the cold. In California when a single person dies without a will and leaves a child behind, the child inherits the parent’s estate.
However sources say Aaron was not in a good financial stage before he passed. One source said he he was living hand-to-mouth and would typically spend what he earned in short order. His house, however, was on the market so his son may have security in any equity the sale brings.
Aaron’s cause of death has not been determined byt toxicology results are pending.
