Aaron Rodgers’ Brother, Jordan, Calls Quarterback Out For Not Reaching Out To His Family During California Wildfires

Looks like things are still pretty tense between Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and his  brother, Jordan.

On Wednesday, the quarterback announced a huge donation to aid those affected by the California wildfires but his gesture was quickly met with hostility when his brother, Jordan, called him out for his failure to reach out to the family in the same disaster. 

In the video shared to Aaron’s Twitter, he said, “In Northern California, where I was born and raised, the city of Paradise burned to the ground, and many of the residents who got out are now displaced to my hometown of Chico and across the north state.” 

“I personally reached out to my friends and the mayor of Chico to find out how to be of the most help. And raising money for both immediate needs and the long-term recovery is what is needed most right now,” he said, as he revealed his $1 million donation. 

However, in response, his brother took to Twitter to address his brother’s longtime estrangement. 

“Please donate, spread awareness and love,” he said, adding, “but when your own Mom is home alone during the fires, car packed ready to evacuate, & you miss the fundamental first step of commission; calling your parents to make sure they are safe….Everything else just feels like an act.” 

The two have been at odds for some time now, as Jordan revealed on the 2016 season of ‘The Bachelorette.’ During his appearance, he said, while he’s close to his oldest brother, Luke, Aaron is estranged from the rest of the family.

“It’s just the way he’s chosen to do life,” Jordan said on the show, according to PEOPLE. “I chose to stay close with my family and my parents and my brother [Luke].”
