ABC Cancels ‘Queens’ After One Season

ABC’s music drama, Queens, starring BrandyNaturi NaughtonEve, and Nadine Velazquez, was not renewed for a second season.

There were high hopes for the show when it made its debut in October, earning a 0.4 demo rating and 1.78 million viewers on Live+Same Day, according to Deadline. But the show’s ratings declined, and the finale only earned a 0.2 demo, reeling in 1 million viewers.

Though it boasted a high-profile cast, the show saw one of its stars depart mid-season. Eve, who returned for February’s finale, took a break after announcing she was pregnant.

Queens revolved around four estranged women in their 40s who reunite for a chance to recapture the fame they found in the ’90s group as part of the girl group Nasty Bitches. Zahir McGhee wrote the script for the series, and Sabrina Wind and Tim Story served as executive producers. ABC Signature produced.

The cancellation comes almost three months after the show’s finale.
