Two ladies have reportedly been tapped as the newest “Real Housewives of Atlanta” stars, as executives say they want the show to “trend younger.”
We love our long-standing Georgia peaches, but it looks like some newcomers are being added to the fruit bowl for season 13. According to LoveBScott.com, the new ladies are actress Drew Sidora and Canadian YouTube star Latoya Ali aka LaToyaForever. LaToya is good friends with RHOA vet Kandi Burruss and was slated to come on to the show last year, but things didn’t work out.
LoveBScott reports that the block between Ali joining the show has been her estranged husband, Adam Ali. The outlet reports that Adam was concerned over having personal matters filmed for the show. He reportedly also mentioned that he does not want their children to be on the reality series as well. Last month, the two announced they will be parting ways in a divorce. If it all falls through, Ali will stand as a friend of the show as a backup plan.
Season 1 vet, NeNe Leakes, was recently fired from the show after ongoing misbehavior on the program, and according to reports, the move only pushes the execs further toward their goal to start “trending younger.” The “core four” have already started filming, Burruss confirmed. However, Leakes took to social media to explain her side of the story, which she says includes mistreatment from producers of the show.
“I’d love to say more, but I’m afraid it won’t be received well, then I won’t get the support I need. I have remained quiet. I haven’t said anything on it, but it’s coming. I will be speaking. I have the right people to speak. Wait for it,” she said. LoveBScott reports that Leakes may be planning an announcement for her departure, and may make allegations against True Entertainment and Bravo involving racial discrimination. The outlet reports that her rep has discussed Leakes only appearing as less than a friend of the show on the next season to say farewell to the ladies with the network.
