The entertainment industry is mourning the loss of actress Erica Ash, who passed away at the age of 46 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Erica was widely recognized for her standout roles in Starz’s “Survivor’s Remorse,” “Real Husbands of Hollywood,” and the sketch comedy show “MADtv.”
Erica’s mother, Diann Ash, confirmed the heartbreaking news to TMZ, stating, “We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved daughter, sister, and friend Erica Chantal Ash (1977-2024). After a long and courageous battle with cancer, she transitioned peacefully surrounded by her loved ones.” This statement reflects the deep love and support Erica received from her family and friends throughout her life and career.
“Erica was an amazing woman and talented entertainer who touched countless lives with her sharp wit, humor, and genuine zest for life. Her memory will live eternally in our hearts. In honor of Erica’ memory, the family asks that any donations be made to the Susan G. Komen Cancer Foundation or the Breast Cancer Foundation of your choice. We are grateful for the kind expressions of love and support during this difficult time,” she continued.
News of her passing began circulating on social media Monday afternoon, with journalist Roland Martin and TV personality Loni Love also speaking out about their dear friend.
Martin paid tribute, recognizing Erica’s deep commitment to her roles and passion for politics.
“It saddens me to confirm that our beloved sister @TheEricaAsh is now an ancestor. She was 46. Erica was an amazing talented, funny, and serious actress. I adored her. She was serious about politics and would have been one of @KamalaHarris biggest supporters. Pray for her family,” Martin wrote, emphasizing her impact both on and off the screen.
Love also shared her sorrow on social media, expressing her admiration for Erica’s talent and humor.
