Adele Files For Divorce From Husband Five Months After Announcing The Split

Adele is officially pulling the plug on her marriage to Simon Konecki.

According to People, the singer filed for divorce from her estranged husband on Thursday in Los Angeles.

The filing happened just five months after the two announced that they had split following seven years together. They also share a six-year-old son named Angelo.

Recently, Adele had been photographed without her wedding ring. Her reps, Benny Tarantini and Carl Fysh, then released a statement to the Associated Press in April, confirming the breakup.

“Adele and her partner have separated. They are committed to raising their son together lovingly. As always they ask for privacy. There will be no further comment,” they said.

The singer also broke her post-split silence that same month by posting a hilarious meme of herself on Instagram.

“When you catch yourself in your feelings then you remember who you are,” she captioned two photos of herself — one where she’s looking distressed and another from her Carpool Karaoke segment with James Corden in which she looks empowered and happy as ever.

Many things, including separation of funds and custody of their son, are currently still up in the air, however, due to her filing in California is it reported Konecki could be entitled to half of her earnings.
