If at first you don’t succeed, ask Adele for help. At least that’s the strategy one Adele fan took Monday night when she tried to get her boyfriend to marry her.
During the kickoff of Adele’s 25 World Tour in Belfast on Monday night, the singer asked if any of her fans needed help proposing to their man. In some parts of the world, it is considered tradition for women to propose to men one day every four years on Leap Day. Some even say it’s good luck for women to propose on February 29.
One fan named Hayley came up on stage and told Adele and the crowd that she had proposed to her boyfriend Neil earlier in the day. Unfortunately for her, Neil declined her proposal, saying “maybe in a little while”. Once Adele heard Hayley’s story, she wanted to help a girl out so she got the crowd to start chanting, “Come on Neil!” It’s kind of hard to say no to 11,000 people, with one of them being Adele, so naturally, Neil finally said yes.
Adele was so excited about the newly engaged couple that she even invited herself to their wedding. “Essex? That’s down the road from me,” the singer said. “I’ll come. I’ll see you shaking your ass.”
So take note, ladies (and gents)…when you’re ready to propose to your significant other, you might just want to hit up Adele. It’s the surefire way to hear a “Yes!”
